Description: The Phoenix Giants joined the Salt Lake Bees and Spokane Indians as new franchises in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 1958. San Francisco's top affiliate was an immediate success, winning the PCL title in 1958. The script flipped the following season, as Phoenix stumbled to the league's worst record before relocating to Tacoma after the season. The Giants returned to Arizona in 1966, and after a 20-year run featuring the same identity as San Francisco, Phoenix rebranded to one of MiLB's most iconic names and brands: Phoenix Firebirds. After the 1997 season, the Firebirds were forced out of Phoenix when MLB expanded into the sprawling region with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Giants moved its affiliation to Fresno as the Firebirds relocated south, becoming the D-Backs' top affiliate, the Tucson Sidewinders. After 11 years in southern Arizona, the "Baby Snakes" moved again to Reno (NV), where the Aces play today.
